Welcome to Beaver High school

by Principal Brady Fails

We’ve been out of school for nearly a month now (which is hard to believe), and I truly hope that summer vacation is going well for you. The 2017-18 school year has been a great year at Beaver High School. We’ve witnessed much growth and success by our students, and the staff has been absolutely instrumental in those successes.  I am extremely grateful for the opportunity that I have to work with our fantastic students and amazing staff on a daily basis.

As the summer break continues, I encourage you to reflect upon this past year and plan ahead as next year approaches. Each year, the days pass with increasing swiftness – make certain to take advantage of opportunities to be involved in as many groups/activities as you can. Continue to look for opportunities to provide random acts of kindness for others and, even though it may be a bit warm, make time to get out and enjoy the outdoors. Good physical exercise (and work) helps to stimulate the mind and encourages good thinking and problem solving skills.

I would also like to wish a fond farewell to the class of 2018. They have been an amazing class in so many ways and on behalf of the staff here at BHS, I wish you good luck. For our returning students and new incoming 9th & 7th graders, I look forward to seeing you all at the end of summer break. Be prepared to work hard, learn, grow, and have a positive impact on the lives of others.

Academic excellence and extra-curricular involvement are expected from our students. Teachers continue to set high goals for our students and support them in reaching these goals. Students are encouraged to participate in many activities and not to limit themselves to one facet of school life.  Your high school days go by quickly and you can never get them back – make certain you don’t later regret that you weren’t more involved. While we enjoy celebrating athletic successes with new trophies and banners, I continue to challenge our students to value equal recognition for academic excellence. I am constantly encouraged by the commitment of teachers, parents, and our communities to create the best environment for all students to feel welcomed and be encouraged to meet their academic goals.  The support of parents and community members has helped us create a setting where issues can be raised and solutions jointly created. The people inside the building have created a positive environment for all who attend each day. We are a community school and function as a community family. The academic successes of our students are positive reflections of our community’s focus.

For our parents, thank you. Thank you for the privilege of educating your children. I look forward to working with you throughout the upcoming school year to help our students meet and exceed their goals. As always, if you have questions please feel free to contact me. The best method of contact for the summer will be through email (brady.fails@beaver.k12.ut.us). I try to check it daily and will respond as soon as possible.
