The 2017-18 school year was one to remember. Here a a summary of all the major events that took place this year. 

September – The Boys Golf team became 2017 2A State Champions!

October – The FFA team represented Beaver High School at the FFA National Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana. Breast Cancer Awareness “Pink FootballGame” was played.

November – The football team traveled to SUU for State Final game for third consecutive year.

February – Tyce Raddon was the 1st wrestler from Beaver High to win the Rumble. Cheerleaders finished 2nd at State. Wrestling team placed fifth overall as a team. The team did, however, bring home two state champions, senior Tyce Raddon and freshman Brian Evans.  Brock Edwards, John Evans and Kyler Borren took third. McCoy Norman and Dylan Bartlett took fourth. Karson Beachum took sixth.  Rachel McMaster took first in her 200 freestyle with a time of 2:02.76 and second in the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.88. Executive Council delivered quilts tied by BHS students to the New Horizons Crisis Center in Richfield who provides support for victims of domestic violence and homelessness. Girls’ and Boys’ Basketball teams both won Region 18 Basketball Championships. The Boys’ Basketball team won their fifth State Championship and the first in 16 years. The Girls’ Basketball team invited the 222nd Field Artillery Unit to join us for lunch and they were honored to have the opportunity to show their gratitude and appreciation to the 222.

March - Austin Carter broke the 2A state record for shotput.  Debate takes 2nd in State closest ever to winning state.  Dalyn Dalton took state in Lincoln Douglas debate and third in Extemporaneous speaking. Logan Marshall placed second in Impromptu speaking and third in Public Forum, along with partner , Tyra Eyre.  Eyre took fourth in Oratory. Joshua Elwell placed fourth in Extemporaneous speaking and fourth in Public Forum with partner Adam Williams.  Dylann Quintana and Amelia McDougal placed fifth in Public Forum.  The HOSA team went to the state convention and every student finished in the top 10 in at least one event. We also earned the title of State Champions in Parliamentary Procedure!!

April  –  The old carpet in the high school was replaced with slick new grey and blue vinyl with a big blue B in the main entrance. The Beaver FFA team traveled to Logan to compete at the state competition at Utah State University. They came home with a state championship in Milk Quality  and Products State Champions! This means that we will be heading to Nationals in October for the second straight year. Beaver Bantam team, wrestlers from preschool to eighth grade, brought home a fourth straight state championship. The boys soccer team secured Beaver High’s first ever Boys’ Soccer Region Championship. Music Large Group students competed in the Region 18 competition.  The choir students performed three musical numbers and scored a "1" on each piece. A "1" is the highest score possible.  The orchestra students also performed three pieces and scored a "1" on two of the three and 2 on one of the pieces.  Sterling Scholar, Angie Laird was selected as a runner-up in the Agricultural Science category.

 May  –  Girls’ Golf team earned the title of Region 18 Champions and won all of the individual score medals. They also finished second overall in state behind Rowland Hall by just five strokes. Two Beaver girls medaled; Hayven Willden placed third, and Braylee Robinson placed fifth. Three others finished in the top ten: Valerie Harris (seventh), Tyra Eyre (ninth) and Shania Atkin (10th). Latinos In Action class held a free car. Boys’ Track team had 2nd place finish at the 2A Track State Championships. This is our best finish in several years.
